![]() Despite its greater exterior size, it doesn't match the generous cargo capacity of some competitors, such as the Hyundai Santa Fe, Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. Like its GMC Terrain twin, the 2013 Chevy Equinox does have a few minor weaknesses. The muscle-bound 301-hp V6 provides strong acceleration, while its mileage estimates are understandably quite a bit less. The 182-horsepower inline-4 provides adequate performance and high EPA fuel mileage estimates, though in practice we've found those to be rather optimistic. In addition to the entry-level four-cylinder engine, the Equinox offers a V6, which is bigger and more powerful this year. Indeed the Equinox stretches the definition of "compact crossover," measuring up to 10 inches longer than its like-priced rivals. Additionally, the Chevy's quiet, comfortable ride seems more like that of a full-size crossover rather than a compact. A sliding second-row seat does the trick, allowing limolike legroom for those second-row passengers. One of the best traits of the Equinox is its expandable (and expansive) rear passenger quarters. It offers style, refinement, functionality and comfort, plus additional high-tech features for 2013 that help it stand out in this increasingly electronics-heavy world. In an attempt to stand out in a crowded field, the 2013 Chevrolet Equinox goes tire-to-tire with its competition, including long-standing segment favorites from Honda and Toyota. The dealer said no worries, and blew off further conversation, but I'm a bit I settled on the issue and may contact Chevrolet directly. But, that being said, I'm concerned about this recent parking break issue. I guess I'm here to boast about how much I love my car. I use both the fwd collision alert and the lane departure warning, and I love these options. The floor mats look well aged after going through just two winters, should have purchased winter floor mats sooner. I am average height and weight 5 11 180 lbs and the seating is extremely comfortable. I avg 18 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. I baby my car, and I absolutely love it otherwise. Although it's garage kept, I cannot make that rear window look brand new again. Also, my license plate light on one side has lost the outer covering somehow in the car wash I beleive. I think perhaps this should be a recall that is fixed for everyone. The dealership fixed the problem promptly. If I had been out on the interstate I think I may have had a bad crash, idk, don't wanna find out. I haven't hit the basic 3 yrs 38k miles yet, I'm at 0 miles. I had to have an expensive tow, but the work was under warranty. 2 days ago my power breaks … locked my back wheels while driving. I've had the car brand new off the lot $31k. I also don't have the Economy Button people speak of here. I only lack AWD, which I haven't needed in our somewhat snowy and icy winters Central Indiana. Fwd, Leather, black on black, Tow Package, everything power. I have the 2013 Chevy 2LT Equinox with 301 HP V6.
